Foreign Investors Return to Indonesian Stocks With Rp 1.6 Trillion Net Inflow
Jakarta. Foreign investors returned as net buyers of Indonesian equities in July, recording net purchases of Rp 1.62 trillion ($90.1 million) after months of sustained selling pressure, the Financial Services Authority (OJK) said on Tuesday.
Hasan Fawzi, OJK's chief executive for capital market supervision, said the improvement in foreign fund flows coincided with a strong rebound in the domestic stock market.
"Foreign selling pressure in the equity market eased throughout July 2026, with overseas investors posting net purchases of Rp 1.62 trillion," Hasan told a press conference in Jakarta.
The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) rose 10.51% month-on-month to 6,236.13 at the end of July.
Indonesia's bond market also posted modest gains, with the Indonesia Composite Bond Index (ICBI) advancing 0.14% from the previous month to 430.46.
Foreign appetite for Indonesian government bonds remained strong, with net purchases of Rp 6.39 trillion during the month, Hasan said.
