Jakarta. Indonesia will host the inaugural New Asia Forum in Bali on Dec. 3–4, bringing together government leaders, sovereign investors and global business executives in an effort to mobilize $30 billion in investment commitments across strategic sectors in Asia.

The two-day event, jointly organized by Danantara Indonesia and Richard Attias & Associates, aims to connect long-term international capital with investment opportunities in Indonesia and the wider region, according to a statement released by the organizers on Monday.

The forum is expected to attract more than 1,000 invited participants, including heads of state, government ministers, sovereign wealth fund representatives and corporate executives. It will feature more than 100 speakers and over 40 sessions.

Organizers said the $30 billion target would be pursued through a selected pipeline of investment-ready projects, with an emphasis on securing commitments and advancing transactions rather than simply facilitating discussions.

The forum will focus on eight strategic sectors: natural resources and downstream processing; energy and power; mobility and advanced manufacturing; digital infrastructure and artificial intelligence; food and agribusiness; trade and connectivity; tourism and the creative economy; and education and human capital development.

The initiative comes as Asian economies seek to attract more long-term investment to support industrial expansion, infrastructure development and technological transformation.

"Asia-Pacific already generates close to 60% of global economic growth. Yet, it attracts far less of its share of long-term international capital," the organizers said, describing the forum as an effort to address that gap.

Danantara Seeks to Connect Global Capital with Asian Opportunities
Danantara Indonesia Chief Executive Officer Rosan Roeslani said the forum would provide an opportunity to deepen investment partnerships and direct international capital toward projects with long-term economic potential.

"New Asia Forum brings long-term global capital closer to the opportunities being created across Indonesia and the wider region. As Indonesia's sovereign investor and a founding partner of the forum, Danantara Indonesia is inviting partners together to unlock these opportunities for long-term value," Rosan said in the statement.

Rosan, who also serves as Indonesia's investment minister, said the initiative reflected the country's efforts to expand its international economic partnerships.

"Under the patronage of President Prabowo Subianto, this is Indonesia engaging the world from a position of confidence, ambition, and collaboration," he added.

The organizers envision the New Asia Forum as a recurring platform that brings together policymakers, project developers and investors to accelerate investment decisions and support the implementation of major economic projects.

Asia's Changing Role in Global Investment
Richard Attias, founder and chairman of Richard Attias & Associates, said the forum reflected a shift in Asia's position within global capital markets, with regional economies increasingly becoming sources of investment as well as destinations for foreign funds.

"The New Asia will not simply attract capital. It will increasingly create it, direct it and determine where it can have the greatest impact," Attias said.

"We are entering one of the most important investment cycles of our generation, and Asia is at its center," he added.

The organizers said the event would distinguish itself from conventional international conferences by focusing on project preparation, investor due diligence and the execution of investment agreements.

The inaugural edition will be held by invitation only, with discussions and investment activities taking place over two days in Bali.
