Jakarta.  Bank Mandiri reported a consolidated net profit of Rp 24.45 trillion ($1.59 billion) in the first half of 2025, down 7.91 percent from a year earlier. Despite the earnings dip, the state-owned lender saw its assets climb 11.4 percent year-on-year to Rp 2,514.68 trillion ($163.3 billion) as of June, supported by double-digit credit expansion.

Finance and Strategy Director Novita Widya Anggraini said Bank Mandiri’s consolidated loans reached Rp 1,701 trillion, growing 11 percent annually, outpacing the industry average of around 7 percent. “We focus our lending acceleration on strengthening the national economy while delivering broad benefits to society. That’s why we aim to keep our loan growth above the industry level,” Novita said in Jakarta on Friday.

The loan book expanded across regions and sectors, including construction, infrastructure, trade, energy, food and beverages, and labor-intensive industries. Novita said this reflected Bank Mandiri’s push to provide financing that matches regional economic potential. Credit to micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) rose 12.6 percent year-on-year in the second quarter, underscoring the bank’s role in supporting inclusive growth and job creation.

“We maintain quality asset growth by channeling financing into sectors with strong potential to boost productivity and employment,” Novita said. Bank Mandiri’s gross non-performing loan (NPL) ratio stood at 1.08 percent on a bank-only basis in June, better than the industry’s 2.22 percent average, according to Indonesian Financial Services Authority (OJK) data. Its NPL coverage ratio reached 273 percent, reflecting solid financial resilience.

Third-party funds (DPK) also saw healthy growth, rising 10.7 percent to Rp 1,828 trillion by June, with low-cost funds or Current Account Saving Account (CASA) making up 78.4 percent of the total. Novita said CASA growth is central to maintaining liquidity and cost efficiency, as the bank continues to position itself as the “main transactional bank” for both retail and wholesale clients.

“We will consistently pursue ecosystem- and digitalization-based growth strategies, with a focus on transactional CASA to support sustainable credit expansion,” she added.
