Jakarta. Indonesia’s benchmark gold from Aneka Tambang (Antam) remained firm on Thursday, with the 1-gram bar priced at Rp 2,947,000 ($175.12), reflecting ongoing strength in local bullion markets even after a mild dip the previous day.

Data from Antam’s Logam Mulia platform showed prices briefly eased by Rp 7,000 on Wednesday before stabilizing.

The metal has gained roughly 18% so far in 2026, compared with Rp 2,488,000 per gram on Jan. 1, and remains below its all-time high of Rp 3,168,000 recorded on Jan. 29. Buyback or re-purchase rates held at Rp 2,741,000 per gram on Thursday.

On the global market, spot gold reached $5,060.7 per ounce as of Feb. 11 at 10:48 p.m. New York time, rising $52.21 or 1.04%, based on data from goldprice.org.

In a note published Tuesday, a portfolio manager for gold and precious metals said bullion has delivered a phenomenal but highly volatile start to the year. As cited by Kitco, escalating geopolitical tensions, particularly developments involving Venezuela, Iran, and Greenland, alongside persistent US tariff and sanctions threats, pushed gold above $5,000 per ounce on Jan. 26.

Breaking through that psychological threshold appeared to trigger speculative buying, with prices reaching an intraday high of $5,595 per ounce on Jan. 29, nearly $1,300 higher than at the end of 2025
