Siloam Turns Shopping Center in South Jakarta Into Covid-19 Hospital
Siloam Hospitals has converted the old Lippo Plaza Mampang on Jalan Mampang Prapatan Raya, South Jakarta, into a hospital for Covid-19 patients.
The hospital's director, drg. Goei Sian Tjoe, MM, said the facility would have a total of 415 beds once the construction is complete.
By Monday, the hospital already has 18 intensive care unit beds, 10 high care unit beds and 30 isolation rooms.
Every floor in the building has been converted into special rooms to treat Covid-19 patients.
The first floor is reserved for patients with mild symptoms. The ICU, HCU and isolation rooms are located on the second and third floors.
The medical workers have been recruited from Siloam hospitals all around Indonesia.
The medical staff will be housed in a specially prepared apartment complex nearby so they can stay fit and healthy both physically and mentally.
Siloam Hospitals is collaborating with the government to procure medical equipment for the new hospital.
The converted hospital will start operation as soon as it receives a permit – currently being processed – from the Jakarta Health Agency.
The building of the new hospital is part of Siloam Hospitals' commitment to support the government and communities in handling the Covid-19 outbreak, which has already killed 122 people in Indonesia.
