Bowed but Unbroken
Despite the tragic crash of an Ethiopian Airlines flight on March 10 that killed 157 people from 30 countries on board, Indonesian umrah pilgrims still trust the world's fourth largest airline to take them to Mecca. Ethiopian Airlines flight ET302 that crashed six minutes after takeoff from Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa used the same Boeing 737 Max 8 plane which was also used on the doomed Lion Air flight JT610 that crashed into the Java Sea last October, killing all 189 passengers and crew on board. Preliminary investigations into the crashes seem to show eerie similarities, including the possible malfunction of a plane control software that Boeing installed on the new plane. Many countries, including Indonesia, have now grounded the 737 Max 8. (JG Photo/Yudha Baskoro)
