Dirgantara Indonesia introduced a prototype of its new Medium Altitude Long Endurance Unmanned Aerial Vehicle – MALE UAV for short – at its hangar in Bandung, West Java, on Monday. This first prototype of the MALE UAV can fly for 24-30 hours at a stretch at altitudes of 3,000 meters to 6,000 meters. Indonesia plans to use it to monitor border areas to prevent terror acts, smuggling, piracy and theft of natural resources.
