Jakarta. Digital media company mahakaX (IDX: ABBA) has teamed up with Tencent Cloud to launch a strategic joint AI innovation partnership, aiming to accelerate localized artificial intelligence (AI) solutions and digital human platforms for Indonesia’s growing market.

Under the collaboration, Tencent Cloud will provide advanced AI technologies, cloud infrastructure, and digital human capabilities to ensure scalability, security, and sustainable innovation. MahakaX will leverage these technologies to develop localized content, such as templates, voices, and models, drawing on its extensive media ecosystem and audio library.

The initiative will enable Indonesian users and businesses to create high-quality videos with AI-powered digital humans for customer-facing needs, including advertising, instructional content, and consumer education.

“By combining MahakaX’s media ecosystem and local content with Tencent Cloud’s strength in AI, cloud, and digital human platforms, this partnership opens up sustainable business opportunities while delivering experiences tailored to Indonesian consumers,” MahakaX CEO Ronny W. Sugiadha said in a statement.

Poshu Yeung, Head of Tencent Cloud International, highlighted Indonesia’s dynamic young consumer base as a key driver.

“Our collaboration with MahakaX will bring scalable, AI-driven experiences to both B2B and B2C markets. It also strengthens Tencent Cloud’s presence in Indonesia and the wider region,” Yeung said.

The partnership comes as Indonesia’s digital economy continues to expand, particularly in influencer-driven marketing. Studies show that more than 85 percent of Indonesian consumers are influenced by key opinion leaders (KOLs), with over 60 percent of purchase decisions shaped by product reviews.

In 2023, around 86.3 percent of brands in Indonesia ran influencer marketing campaigns, with more than half allocating budgets above Rp 100 million ($6,021). Meanwhile, 76 percent of social media users follow at least one influencer, and 68 percent have bought products based on influencer recommendations.

Backed by 143 million active social media users, nearly half the population, Indonesia’s digital ad spending is expected to rise further, reinforcing the need for scalable, localized AI solutions.

MahakaX and Tencent Cloud said they will continue exploring new synergies to create added value for Indonesian consumers, content creators, and business partners.
