Jakarta. Dompet Dhuafa, a Muslim alms organization, recently held a charity concert "Together for Sumatar" at M Bloc Live House and M Bloc Space to gather support for the disaster-hit island.

Flash floods and landslides have claimed hundreds of lives across West Sumatra, North Sumatra, and Aceh. Some Indonesian musicians, such as Bang Is, Parade Hujan, Vikri Rahmat, Driven by Animals, Indra The Rain, Skastra, Panji Sakti, Souljah, Haddad Alwi, Sore, and J-Rocks took part in the charity concert.

"Dompet Dhuafa has been working in several locations since the beginning of the disaster. We are also calling on donors, strategic partners, and our volunteers for humanitarian assistance. This charity concert is a demonstration of our commitment," Etika Setiawanti, the director for resource mobilization, at Dompet Dhuafa said.

"Corporate partners are also directly distributing aid, a joint initiative by Dompet Dhuafa and Bang Is. Bang Is has been with us for 10 years, and we have implemented various programs through our shared commitment.

The joint effort sees Dompet Dhuafa dispatching 60 tons of aid.

Bang Is said that the charity concert provided space to express humanitarian response.

"I call the community to work together and support the survivors in Sumatra and Aceh, who are still struggling to obtain food and basic necessities like clean water and logistics," he said.

Director of Dompet Dhuafa's Social, Humanitarian, and Da'wah Programs Ahmad Shonhaji said that some of the assistance that the Sumatra evacuees needed included ready-to-eat meals, clean water, Wi-Fi and chargers, basic food packages, non-food items, supplies for babies, mothers, and the elderly, mobile kitchens, and medical services.

"Until December 7, 2025, Dompet Dhuafa's Disaster Management Center [DMC] has helped 44,018 beneficiaries, including helping evacuate 225 people. We have also distributed 8,170 ready-to-eat," Shonhaji said.

Dompet Dhuafa has also rolled out 25,715 public kitchen services, 3,157 warm posts, 892 clean action points, 250 mobile kitchen services, 530 wifi and charger posts, 2,000 basic food packages. The DMC has also made 1,758 clean water distributions, 177 non-food logistics distributions, and set up 49 cheerful park points.

The assistance also include 971 clothes for babies, mothers and the elderly, 24 reflexology services, 270 baby and mothers' kitchen services, 279 psychological first aid, 13 nutritional screening services and 422 medical posts.
