Jakarta. Seasoned investor Lo Kheng Hong recently visited Indonesia’s new capital Nusantara to see how much the megaproject has progressed so far.

Lo Kheng Hong was not alone in his trip to the new capital. Indra Christanto, the president director at securities company Panin Sekuritas, alongside other investors also joined him on the trip.

The group visited some projects made by the state-run construction firm PTPP, including the Nusantara tollway section 3B Phase 1, which is already 90.1 percent. The new capital is gearing up to hold the upcoming Independence Day ceremony this August. Lo Kheng Hong came to see the state palace and ceremonial grounds in person. According to PTPP, its construction has already reached 84.3 percent in completion. They also stopped by the president’s office, and work is almost 90.6 percent done. They made their final stop at the Public Works Ministry’s office - Wings 2 project whose construction was still underway.

The progress earned praise from the visiting businessmen.

“It’s amazing to see how much PTPP has done here at the new capital as they have built the palace, office, and others. I hope this project can progress further, become livelier, and turn into a metropolis,” Lo Kheng Hong was quoted as saying in a recent press statement.

Indra Christanto added: “The selection process for the contractor that will be in charge of the presidential palace and office already shows PTPP’s performance quality. And they have proven it with how they have delivered according to the quality standards.”

These businessmen also said they hoped PTPP could keep up with the good work so the Nusantara project could be finished on time.
