Jakarta. Baitul Khairat Grand Mosque, a project made by the state run construction firm PTPP, recently earned two records.

PTPP has been working on this project worth Rp 376.65 billion ($22.6 million) since Oct. 23, 2023. The project is expected to finish on Nov. 15, 2025. The project has now reached 99.18 percent completion, exceeding the established time and quality targets.

PTPP's corporate secretary Joko Raharjo stated that this success is a testament to the cmpany's excellence in delivering large-scale projects that not only excel technically but also possess high social and spiritual value.

"The construction of the Baitul Khairaat Grand Mosque is not just a construction project, but a symbol of revival and goodness for the people of Central Sulawesi after the 2018 disaster. We are proud to be part of this history and thank the local government for their trust," said Joko.

According to PTPP, 30-meter-high building symbolizes the 30 juz (chapters) of the Quran, the two 66.66-meter-high minarets represent the 6,666 verses of the Quran, and the 99 window ornaments depict the Asmaul Husana (the Beautiful Names of Allah).

The 90-meter-diameter pearl-shaped main dome is the largest in Indonesia. The mosque's 19.3-meter-diameter analog clock tower is recorded as the largest clock in Indonesia and the fifth-largest in the world, complete with a GPS-based time synchronization system and illuminative lighting that enhances the mosque's beauty at night.

A Symbol of Pride and Revival in Central Sulawesi
Baitul Khairaat Grand Mosque also represents the center of modern Islamic civilization in Central Sulawesi. The mosque's design was selected through an open competition in 2021 and was designed to serve as both a house of worship and a center for social, educational, and humanitarian activities for the community.

"This mosque is the center of Islamic civilization in Central Sulawesi and a door of blessing for the community. We thank PTPP for their dedication and professionalism that have resulted in this monumental work," Central Sulawesi Governor Anwar Hafid said.

The construction of this mosque also demonstrates synergy across regional leadership in Central Sulawesi. The design initiation took place during former governor Longki Djanggola, followed by the groundbreaking process during Rusdy Mastura's leadership. It then continued through to the completion and establishment of the mosque management institution by Governor Anwar Hafid.

"This MURI record is not just an award, but a reflection of PTPP's commitment to continuously producing sustainable, inspiring construction works that contribute to the spiritual development of the community," Joko said.
