Jakarta. Construction firm PTPP recently took home three awards that recognize the company’s commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles.

PTPP not long ago won an award at detik.com’s Green Economy Awarding ceremony. The company won in the green construction category. This award recognizes the company’s efforts in reducing the environmental impact of a building throughout its life cycle, starting from the planning, construction, and production efficiency to the project financing.

In 2023, a number of PTPP projects earned the greenship certificate from the Green Building Council Indonesia (GBCI). These projects include the platinum-certified JIS Sunter and IT Mandiri Slipi. As well as the gold-certified Danareksa Tower, Pegadaian building, and the UGM project. PTPP is also currently working on the BNI PIK 2 project, which adopts the green building concept with a “Green LEED Platinum” qualification. This makes the first state-owned building to have such a qualification.

PTPP also won two other awards at the 4th TJSL & CSR Award. The firm earned gold in the social and economic pillars. The social pillar recognizes PTPP’s vocational village initiative, which seeks to empower construction workers with training and certification programs. As for the economic pillar award, PTPP gained recognition for setting up vending machines that include eco-friendly corporate kits. This initiative aims to nurture a “green attitude” among PTPP employees.

“These awards prove PTPP’s commitment to implementing a sustainable development that is eco-friendly and abides by the ESG principles. As we support the government’s efforts to achieve sustainable development goals (SDGs), PTPP as a contractor will consistently make innovations and use state-of-the-art technologies in our green construction projects,” PTPP’s president director Novel Arsyad was quoted as saying in a recent press statement.

According to Novel, PTPP has included ESG principles in its business strategy.

“These awards will of course motivate us to keep the balance between economic growth, environmental sustainability, and social welfare,” Novel said.
