Jakarta. The transformation of the fertilizer industry extends beyond production; it encompasses distribution methods, farmer services, industry strengthening, and the development of green business initiatives.

These changes form the focus of the Pupuk Indonesia Media Awards (PIMA) 2026 journalism competition, organized once again by Pupuk Indonesia under the theme "Transformation for National Food Self-Sufficiency."

Through PIMA 2026, Pupuk Indonesia invites national and regional journalists to explore the stories behind this transformation—specifically, how changes at the industrial and service levels can support farmers' needs and strengthen the national agricultural ecosystem.

Pupuk Indonesia Corporate Secretary Yehezkiel Adiperwira stated that the company's transformation spans the entire value chain—from upstream to downstream—covering industry and governance strengthening, the streamlining of fertilizer distribution, and the development of services and support for farmers.

"We invite members of the press to explore these stories from various angles so the public can see how this transformation supports efforts to achieve food self-sufficiency," said Yehezkiel.

PIMA 2026 competition features three sub-themes. The first is "Service Transformation: Getting Fertilizer to Farmers Faster," which highlights changes in distribution governance and digitalization, service innovations, and farmer support. Journalists can draw perspectives from farmers' actual experiences in accessing fertilizer and related support services.

The second sub-theme is "Business Transformation: Shaping the Fertilizer Industry to Create Added Value."

This category allows journalists to examine how Pupuk Indonesia strengthens the industry through efficiency, revitalization, innovation, supply chain optimization, and sustainability. This transformation is part of a broader effort to boost the national fertilizer industry's competitiveness while simultaneously meeting agricultural needs.

The third theme, “Green Transformation: Building the Future through Industrial Processing,” explores the development of industrial processing, diversification, and green industries within the Pupuk Indonesia Group. This sub-theme encompasses the company's efforts to create value-added products through industrial development while simultaneously accelerating the achievement of decarbonization targets.

PIMA 2026 is open to journalists across five competition categories: Hard News (Text), Feature (Text), Photo Story, Television, and Radio. For the Radio category specifically, entries may take the form of hard news, features, or talk shows. Entries may highlight the activities of Pupuk Indonesia or its subsidiaries across various operational regions, provided they align with the three available sub-themes.

Submitted entries will be evaluated by a panel of judges comprising senior journalists serving as Editors-in-Chief, as well as senior photographers or photo editors from national media outlets.

As a token of appreciation, Pupuk Indonesia is offering a total prize pool of Rp 262.5 million across the five categories. Each category will have six winners: 1st Place (Rp 20 million), 2nd Place (Rp 10 million), 3rd Place (Rp 7.5 million), and three Honorable Mention winners (Rp 5 million each).

Entries must have been published between October 1 and December 31, 2026. Information regarding competition rules and procedures can be obtained via WhatsApp at 081396428707 (Vania) and 0882001855751 (Putri), or by emailing [email protected].
