PERIKLINDO’s PEVS 2026 Opens to Boost Indonesia’s Electric Vehicle Industry
Jakarta. The fifth edition of the Periklindo Electric Vehicle Show (PEVS) opened on Thursday at the Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) Kemayoran, bringing together more than 45 exhibitors to showcase electric vehicles and supporting technologies while promoting investment and collaboration across Indonesia’s electric vehicle industry.
Organized by the Indonesian Electric Vehicle Industry Association (PERIKLINDO) and Dyandra Promosindo, PEVS 2026 runs from Oct. 29 to Nov. 1, serving as a platform for industry stakeholders to strengthen partnerships, explore investment opportunities and accelerate the development of the national electric vehicle ecosystem.
National Development Planning Minister and National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) Head Rachmat Pambudy welcomed the exhibition, expressing hope that it would help the government advance its roadmap for Indonesia’s electric vehicle industry.
"The government continues to support the energy transition and accelerate the development of Indonesia’s electric vehicle ecosystem. We also continue to build synergies with all stakeholders to achieve our shared goal of making Indonesia a major player in the global electric vehicle industry," he said at the opening ceremony on Thursday.
PERIKLINDO Chairman Moeldoko said the electric vehicle industry required sustained collaboration between the government, industry players and the public. He added that PEVS 2026 was designed not only as an exhibition but also as a platform to bring together stakeholders from across the electric vehicle industry and its supporting ecosystem.
"PEVS 2026 is not merely an opportunity to introduce the latest developments in electric vehicle technology and products, but also a space for various stakeholders to come together and build a stronger national electric vehicle ecosystem. Through this fifth edition, PERIKLINDO aims to continue promoting collaboration and innovation so Indonesia’s electric vehicle industry can grow sustainably and become increasingly competitive," he said.
Meanwhile, Industry Ministry Director General of Metal, Machinery, Transportation Equipment and Electronics (ILMATE) Setia Diarta said the government appreciated PERIKLINDO’s efforts to strengthen the country's electric vehicle ecosystem.
Indonesia's electric vehicle population reached 541,678 units as of August 2026, according to Industry Ministry data, reflecting the sector's continued expansion.
"The development of the national electric vehicle industry has shown encouraging figures. This is a very interesting achievement for us, as it demonstrates that electric vehicle adoption in Indonesia continues to grow," he said.
Dyandra Promosindo President Director Daswar Marpaung said PEVS 2026 reflected optimism about the industry's growth prospects, supported by technological advances, wider product choices and increasingly diverse mobility needs.
"We see significant room for growth in the electric vehicle industry as technology continues to advance, product choices expand and public demand for mobility solutions becomes increasingly diverse. Through PEVS 2026, Dyandra Promosindo aims to provide a platform connecting industry players, the government, business partners and the public, while opening up collaboration opportunities that can create added value for the national electric vehicle industry," he said.
This year's exhibition also introduces a cashback program offering a total of up to Rp 200 million for vehicle transactions during PEVS 2026. Visitors can participate by spinning a prize wheel at the cashback counter.
The exhibition features several interactive programs, including test drives and indoor test rides, allowing visitors to try vehicles from participating brands and explore their features, performance and specifications before making purchasing decisions.
PEVS 2026 also hosts the EV Student Showcase, which provides a platform for students to present electric vehicle prototypes, innovations and technology concepts to the public. The PEVS Push Bike Race is scheduled for Nov. 1, offering activities for younger visitors.
Another highlight is EV Fest, a showcase of modified electric vehicles organized in collaboration with IAM and Adipro, combining automotive creativity and innovation.
More than 45 exhibitors are participating in this year's exhibition, spanning four-wheeled and two-wheeled vehicles as well as supporting industries.
