Own an EV? Here’s How to Charge Your Ride on PLN Mobile
Jakarta. Electric vehicles (EVs), be it two or four-wheelers, are gaining popularity in Indonesia. EVs do not only save costs, but it shows how Indonesians are becoming increasingly aware of how important it is to save the planet. But one question remains: “How can I charge my EV without much hassle?”
The answer is simple: PLN Mobile.
Public EV Charging Station: Quick and Easy
More and more public EV charging stations, better known by their local acronyms SPKLU, are available in Indonesia’s major cities. PLN Mobile, the state-run utility firm’s mobile app, can tell the location of the nearest SPKLU complete with how many units are available in the station.
SPLU for Your Two-Wheelers
Own an electric two-wheeler? You can go to the nearest general-purpose charging stations or also known as SPLU. The station usually looks like a pole with an electrical outlet. It charges two-wheelers or other vehicles that have a smaller battery capacity. PLN Mobile enables users to find SPLUs so they do not need to worry about running out of battery when traveling.
Home Charging Stations
PLN offers home charging stations for EV owners. As the name suggests, this lets users charge their vehicles from the comfort of their home. Users can request PLN to set up the home charging station via PLN Mobile. Users can also monitor its use on the app.
PLN Mobile is available on Google Play and App Store. The app also lets users check and pay their electricity bills. Other features include token purchases and complaint services.
