Jakarta. Krakatau Tirta Industri (KTI), the industrial water supply subsidiary of the steel maker Krakatau Steel, last year announced its partnership smelter operator Amman Mineral Industri (AMIN).

The two companies inked a product purchase agreement on industrial water supply. The project will provide AMIN desalination water and demineralized water. KTI president director Alugoro Mulyowahyudi said that the partnership had become a milestone in the company's business expansion in the water supply industry.

“We thank AMIN for trusting us. We are committed to do things that the customers, including Amman Mineral Industri, expect from us,” Alugoro said.

AMIN president director Rachmat Makkasau said the agreement was crucial to support AMIN’s business operations and its smelter project over the period of 30 years. The facility will also use state-of-the-art technology and be environmentally-friendly.

“Our partner Krakatau Tirta Industri will supply desalination water at a capacity of 266 cubic meters/hour and demineralized water at 55 cubic meters/hour. This facility is slated for launching on Q4-2023,” Rachmat said.

AMIN is in charge of construction and operation of a smelter in West Sumbawa, West Nusa Tenggara. This smelter is one of the national strategic projects.

Krakatau Steel president director Silmy Karim praised KTI’s achievements.
