Jakarta. JF3 Fashion Festival recently inked a memorandum of understanding with the Busan government, which paved the way for greater bilateral cooperation in fashion industries.

The partnership will see both parties committing to developing a knowledge exchange network, designer development programs, and sustainable business opportunities in the Asian region.

The JF3 Fashion Festival also brought together three Indonesian fashion creators to showcase at Busan Fashion Week 2025 on Oct. 30, as well as at the Mini Trunk Show at Lehans, Seoul, on Oct. 31.

They took part in the HiSeoul Showroom on November 1-3. Three curated designers representing the new face of Indonesian fashion were presented: LAKON Indonesia, Hartono Gan, and Ernesto Abram.

LAKON Indonesia presented a collection themed "URUB," which embodied the philosophy of transformation through refinement. The collection featured a modern interpretation of traditional Indonesian embroidery and weaving techniques, blending hand-drawn details with calm and characteristic contemporary silhouettes.

Hartono Gan presented works that emphasized experimental tailoring with architectural construction, representing the power of form and design discipline combined with a modern Asian sensibility.

Ernesto Abram presented a collection that combined elements of romanticism and freedom through a play of soft colors, organic volumes, and touches of texture that conveyed honest and artistic personal expression.

This participation is part of the JF3 Fashion Festival's grand vision, "Recrafted: A New Vision," elevating Indonesian creativity and craftsmanship to the global stage through continuous collaboration and innovation.

JF3 also seeks to build sustainable connections between industry players, designers, and business partners, underscoring the festival's commitment to executing a deep and strategic international expansion.

"We want to broaden the meaning of the word expansion. For us, this isn't just about performing on stage, but about building the foundation of a shared future," said Thresia Mareta, JF3 Fashion Festival Advisor and Founder of LAKON Indonesia.

Over the past four years, JF3 has made various international collaborations, including a partnership with France, and is now expanding its network to South Korea.

Through its collaboration with Busan, JF3 aims to build a future-oriented Asian creative network, where creativity becomes a common language for economic and cultural growth.

"Indonesia and Korea share a similar spirit: respecting cultural heritage while daring to innovate. JF3 is here to serve as a bridge between the two countries, so that this collaboration doesn't stop on stage but continues in the form of real, sustainable cooperation," Thresia said.
