IP Expo Indonesia 2026 Draws Global Brands, Creators and Entertainment Giants
Jakarta. Following the strong debut of last year’s event, IP Expo Indonesia has officially returned in 2026 with a larger scale and deeper industry engagement. Amid the rapid growth of the intellectual property (IP)-driven economy in Southeast Asia, the event is bringing together some of the world’s most influential IP owners, brand owners, and creators under one roof.
Organized by GDP Venture and dentsu Indonesia, the two-day event is being held on May 7-8 at the Grand Ballroom of Hotel Indonesia Kempinski Jakarta.
Building on the momentum of the 2025 edition, which exceeded expectations, IP Expo Indonesia 2026 comes with a bigger platform for collaboration across the IP ecosystem. The event is designed for brands and marketers seeking to understand how IP activation strategies can drive meaningful business growth.
The event combines two main pillars: an exhibition area featuring IP owners and a conference area serving as a marketplace for collaboration and business discussions.
The exhibition features 52 exhibitors spanning entertainment, sports, and gaming sectors, giving brands direct access to some of the market’s most sought-after IPs for licensing and collaboration opportunities.
Meanwhile, the conference sessions feature 21 discussions over two days exploring the role of IP in modern business, from content ecosystems to monetization strategies. Speakers include global and local industry players, including Sanrio, Toei Animation, Infia, Provaliant, and Sony Music Publishing Indonesia.
IP Expo Indonesia 2026 also provides direct business interaction through Structured Business Meetings, facilitating one-on-one sessions between IP owners and marketers to explore licensing and partnership opportunities in a more focused setting.
Eva Soputan, Vice President of Business Development at GDP Venture, said brands today are no longer competing solely for attention, but for relevance among audiences.
“Today, audiences have the freedom to choose brands that feel most relevant to them. Naturally, they gravitate toward stories and cultures they already connect with and love. IP helps bridge that connection by creating emotional bonds rooted in history and community value,” Eva said.
“This is where creativity can connect, grow, and remain sustainable. IP Expo Indonesia serves as a platform that brings these elements together while supporting a more connected and collaborative IP ecosystem in Indonesia,” she added.
Elvira Jakub, Country CEO of dentsu Indonesia, said Indonesia holds significant potential in the IP economy, but long-term success depends on how creativity can remain connected and sustainable.
“Our role at dentsu is to help brands navigate this complexity to deliver tangible business results. When brands and IP come together, we are not simply chasing trends — we are creating a wave of growth that makes brands more relevant and irreplaceable,” Elvira said.
“As brands increasingly rely on culture and fandom to stand out, IP Expo Indonesia 2026 — the result of our partnership with GDP Venture — becomes a crucial meeting point where IP transforms from an asset into a competitive advantage,” she added.
