Intibios Fun Run Draws 2,500 Participants to Promote Healthy Living
Jakarta. Around 2,500 runners gathered at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) in East Jakarta on Sunday to take part in the Intibios Fun Run 2026, a five-kilometer event aimed at encouraging healthier lifestyles and raising awareness of preventive healthcare.
The event combined recreational running with a broader wellness campaign, reflecting Intibios' efforts to promote healthy habits through regular physical activity.
"We want to encourage Indonesians to embrace healthier lifestyles. The key to healthy living is staying active, being happy and maintaining a positive mindset," Yeni Handayani, president director of Intibios Lab, Clinic and Pharmacy, said during the event.
Yeni said Intibios plans to expand the initiative into a series of wellness events featuring activities such as yoga, well-being programs and preventive health education.
"We hope to develop this into a series that combines running with wellness activities, preventive healthcare products, yoga and well-being programs. We want participants to leave not only healthier, but happier," she said.
TMII was selected as the venue because its cultural pavilions complement the event's Nusantara theme, allowing participants to experience Indonesia's cultural diversity while completing the race.
Akrama Bukari crossed the finish line first, completing the five-kilometer course in approximately 20 minutes.
He said he had joined the event primarily to enjoy the run with members of his running community and had not expected to finish first.
"I was just here to have fun with my friends, so winning came as a pleasant surprise," Akrama said.
He attributed his performance to consistent training that included interval sessions, tempo runs, easy runs and long-distance runs.
Akrama also encouraged beginners to focus on building consistency rather than speed.
"If you're just starting out, begin with easy runs. Don't rush to run fast because improvement takes time. Train consistently rather than simply following trends. But if joining the trend motivates people to start running and live healthier lives, that's a good thing," he said.
