Jakarta. The Industry Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to a greener future with the launch of Green Run 2025 on Sunday, a public running event designed to raise awareness about the country’s push toward sustainable industrial practices.

The event is part of this year’s Acceleration of Industrial Green Innovation Summit (AIGIS) and aims to highlight the importance of cross-sector collaboration in advancing the adoption of green industry principles across the nation.

Far more than just a race, Green Run 2025 was conceived as a platform to promote healthy living while educating the public on the urgent need for environmental transformation in the industrial sector.

“This event is both an educational tool and a collaborative platform to spread the values of green industry among the broader community,” said Deputy Industry Minister Faisol Riza in Jakarta. “Synergy between the private sector, government, and civil society is key to transforming our industries into greener, more efficient, and more sustainable systems.”

Faisol expressed hope that the event would inspire real action beyond ceremonial participation, encouraging all industry stakeholders to take meaningful steps toward environmental reform.

“I hope Green Run 2025 serves as more than just a celebration -- it should inspire broader involvement in shaping a sustainable industrial future. Let’s make this Indonesia’s first sustainable industrial run, a symbol of our collective journey toward a greener, more competitive, and inclusive industry,” he said.

As a token of appreciation, Faisol also presented medals to runners who completed the event’s main 5K and 10K races.

The Green Run was supported by several industry partners, including PT Chery Sales Indonesia and PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia, and was attended by officials from the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry. Organizers hope the event will become an annual fixture and serve as a driving force behind the green industry movement in Indonesia.

The event was organized by the Ministry’s Agency for Industrial Services Policy and Standardization (BSKJI).
