Jakarta. Indonesia has rolled out nationwide shopping deals to enliven the school holiday season.

Through BINA Indonesia Great Sales 2026: Holiday & Back to School, promos are available across cities, malls, and retail networks.

Running from 8 June to 12 July 2026, the program offers discounts of up to 50%, involving around 800 brands, 80,000 retail outlets, and at least 414 malls and retail centres across 24 provinces.

Indonesia is banking on this program to boost household consumption, strengthen shopping tourism, and create a wider economic impact for retailers, culinary businesses, small businesses, and tourism players.

“When travellers go on a trip, shop for local products, enjoy local cuisine, or visit community-based attractions, the economic impact is felt directly by tourism businesses, retailers, MSMEs, and regional economies,” Minister of Tourism Widiyanti Putri Wardhana said.

This is expected to cement Indonesia’s position as a shopping tourism destination in Southeast Asia. The regional market is highly important for Indonesia, particularly Malaysia, which currently stands as the largest source of international visitors to the country. Geographic proximity, strong connectivity, and shared interest in shopping, culinary experiences, and urban tourism make travellers from Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei Darussalam key markets for Indonesia.

Amid exchange rate dynamics, quality products in Indonesia are becoming increasingly competitive and attractive for regional visitors.

This creates an opportunity to encourage international tourists not only to visit Indonesia, but also to stay longer and spend more during their trips.

Beyond shopping promotions, the government is also supporting public mobility during the school holiday period through railway, sea transport, and ferry discounts, as well as a government-borne VAT incentive for domestic economy-class air tickets during a designated period.

Through the collaboration of the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Trade, HIPPINDO, APPBI, and industry players, BINA Indonesia Great Sales 2026 is expected to become a national movement that brings together travel, shopping, and pride in Indonesian products.
