Jakarta. Indonesia Comic Con (ICC), one of Indonesia’s largest pop culture conventions, will celebrate its 10th anniversary on Oct. 3–4 at Hall Expo & Arena, JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, bringing together fans, creators, communities and industry players under the theme “A Decade of Pop Culture Fiesta.”

Organized by Panorama Media, the two-day event marks a decade of connecting different fandoms and creative disciplines while creating opportunities for local intellectual property (IP), creators and communities to reach wider audiences.

The anniversary theme centers on three ideas: Celebration, honoring ICC’s 10-year journey and the people behind it; Connection, bringing together fandoms, creative disciplines, generations and cultures; and Future, opening up opportunities for creators, IP owners, communities and the broader creative industry.

“Ten years ago, we started with one simple belief: pop culture fans in Indonesia deserve a place of their own to gather. What has kept Indonesia Comic Con going through its 10th edition is not us, but the community. That is why this year’s theme is dedicated to them, while also reflecting our commitment to bringing local IP to a stage as prominent as global characters,” said Andita Tirtawisata, director of Panorama Media.

ICC 2026 will feature exhibitions, guest talks, meet-and-greet sessions, cosplay programs, creator activities, gaming competitions, comic showcases, community programs and collaborations with local and international partners.

Japanese actor Mackenyu will appear as the event’s main guest on the main stage, while international cosplayers HaneAme and Lily Universe will join the cosplay program alongside guests associated with the World Cosplay Summit (WCS).

“We designed this 10th edition to give visitors reasons to stay for the full two days. There is Mackenyu on the main stage, HaneAme and Lily Universe for the cosplay community, and comic artists from Hong Kong and Malaysia in the creator area. Everything is under one roof, which is what makes ICC feel like an annual reunion for the pop culture community,” said Lulu Anwar, project manager of Indonesia Comic Con.

Cosplay competitions will take place through two events. The RAYA Championship of Cosplay is an original competition created by ICC, while the Indonesia Cosplay Grand Prix serves as the national qualifying round for WCS Indonesia, the official pathway to the World Cosplay Summit in Nagoya, Japan. Together, the competitions aim to strengthen Indonesia’s presence in the global cosplay community.

ICC 2026 will also bring Indonesian comic artists together with international creators. In collaboration with the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Jakarta, this year’s convention will feature comic artists from Hong Kong and Malaysia, creating opportunities for creative exchange and helping local creators and IP connect with international audiences.

“Over the past 10 years, the position of Indonesian comic artists has changed. Today, many of us work for publishers in the United States, Japan and Europe. What we need now is a consistent meeting place where creators, publishers and readers can come together, so those opportunities do not stop at conversations,” said Sunny Gho, chairman of the Indonesian Comics Association (AKSI).

A similar perspective was shared by Indonesian comic artist Ariela Kristantina, whose work has been published by international publishers, including Marvel and Dark Horse Comics.

“Working for international publishers has taught me that they are not looking for creators who imitate their style, but for creators who have their own voice. At events like this, we can meet readers and fellow comic artists directly and see who our work reaches. That is difficult to experience when you are working behind a drawing desk,” Ariela said.

The role of pop culture in Indonesia’s creative economy will also feature in the convention’s program. Cecep Rukendi, deputy for media creativity at the Ministry of Creative Economy, said platforms such as ICC help connect creators with audiences and industry players.

“Pop culture today is a tangible part of our creative economy. Creative industry players need more than production support; they also need platforms that bring them together with audiences and industry partners. Events such as Indonesia Comic Con serve that purpose,” Cecep said.

For its 10th edition, ICC is also collaborating with Jakarta Futura Connectiva (JFC), a program under the Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Disparekraf). The partnership brings together government institutions, creative communities, creators and industry players while providing a platform to showcase Jakarta’s creative economy through pop culture.

“Creative economy is one of Jakarta’s strengths, and pop culture is one of the most accessible entry points for younger generations. Through Jakarta Futura Connectiva, we want creators and communities in Jakarta to have direct access to industry players, allowing their existing potential to develop into tangible business opportunities,” said Raymond Stefanus, sub-coordinator for marketing and financing access at the Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency.

UniPin GameHers will participate in ICC on Oct. 3–4 as part of the lead-up to GameHers 2026, under the theme “We Game, We Grow, We Glow.” The program will feature a talk show titled “Beyond the Screen: Gaming, Creativity & Finding Yourself,” encouraging women to develop their skills, pursue creative interests and explore their potential through gaming and the creative industry.

“GameHers’ presence at Indonesia Comic Con gives us an opportunity to bring our mission of women’s empowerment to a wider audience. Gaming is not just about playing; it can also be a space to learn, create, build connections and discover your potential. Through GameHers, we want more women to feel that they have room to grow and the confidence to explore what they can do in this industry,” said Debora Imanuella, senior vice president of community and media networks at UniPin Global.

The event is part of the lead-up to the main GameHers 2026 event, scheduled for Dec. 5.

ICC’s 10th-anniversary celebration is supported by several brands participating in the exhibition. Tokopedia will serve as the official gaming top-up platform, connecting visitors to top-up services in the gaming zone. Pacific Licensing, Mattel and Fujifilm will participate as brand partners with their own interactive activations, while Anteraja will serve as the official logistics partner, supporting logistics for participants and visitors throughout the event.

Tickets are available in five categories: the One-Day Pass at Rp 130,000, the Two-Day Pass at Rp 225,000, the Cosplayer One-Day Pass at Rp 110,000, the two-day VIP Cosplayer Pass at Rp 500,000, and the two-day VIP General Pass at Rp 1 million.

The VIP Cosplayer Pass includes fast-track entry, access to a cosplay lounge, changing rooms and storage facilities. The VIP General Pass offers fast-track entry and access to a VIP lounge.

Tickets can be purchased through the official website, indonesiacomiccon.com. Tickets for Mackenyu’s meet-and-greet sessions are sold separately and are available in limited quantities.

The 10th edition marks both a celebration of ICC’s journey and the beginning of a new chapter for Indonesia’s pop culture ecosystem. Further guest announcements and stage schedules will be updated through the official website and Instagram account @indocomiccon.
