Jakarta. IDN, Indonesia’s leading media and entertainment technology company for Millennials and Gen Z, has officially acquired M Bloc Group, the country’s leading placemaking network for culture, creativity, community, and entertainment.

M Bloc Group is widely known for transforming historic and iconic spaces into cultural hubs. The acquisition aims to strengthen IDN’s ecosystem in culture and entertainment by creating spaces across Indonesia where young people can connect, create, and share experiences together.

Founded in Surabaya on June 8, 2014, by brothers Winston Utomo and William Utomo, IDN has grown into one of Indonesia’s largest youth-focused digital media and entertainment platforms.

Following the acquisition, M Bloc Group’s portfolio — including M Bloc Space, Pos Bloc Jakarta, Pos Bloc Surabaya, Pos Bloc Medan, and Lokananta Bloc Solo — will operate under a unified platform called IDN Bloc, while each location retains its existing name.

The partnership is expected to expand opportunities for creators, communities, and brands across Indonesia, particularly in the entertainment sector. The integration will also accelerate collaboration between IDN’s digital ecosystem and M Bloc Group’s physical creative spaces, including future projects involving JKT48, Saweria, Boss Creator, the organizer behind Pestapora, as well as IDN Event.

Operationally, M Bloc Group’s team and venues will continue to run as usual. Visitors, tenants, and communities using the creative spaces are not expected to experience any disruption following the integration.

Winston said IDN’s long-term vision is to build a media and entertainment technology company that reflects the spirit of Indonesia’s younger generation while helping shape the country’s cultural identity.

William Utomo, IDN’s co-founder and chief operating officer, said the acquisition creates stronger operational synergy across the company’s ecosystem.

From content and events to creator and community collaborations, this alignment will allow us to move faster, create together, and deliver experiences unlike ever before,” he said.

M Bloc Group co-founder Handoko Hendroyono said joining the IDN ecosystem opens new opportunities to deepen the impact of the communities the company has built over the years.
