Jakarta. Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Maman Abdurrahman threw his support behind “Kopling 2025,” a government-endorsed music and SME festival designed to connect artists with small businesses across the creative economy.

Speaking during a visit to the venue at Gambir Expo, Jakarta, on Saturday, Maman said aligning MSMEs with musicians can amplify jobs and income while promoting local culture. “Kopling 2025 shows that koplo music is synonymous with the creative, inclusive spirit of MSMEs and delivers broad benefits to society,” he said.

Koplo -- an upbeat subgenre of dangdut that emerged in the early 2000s and often blends local languages from Java’s northern coast -- serves as the festival’s musical anchor. Organizers say the format is meant to pull crowds while giving MSME sellers, artisans, and service providers a direct line to audiences and partners.

The inaugural Jakarta edition on 8–9 November features 192 MSME tenants and more than 30 performers, including Maliq & D’Essentials, Danilla, Warga Koplo, The Changcuters, Della Monica, For Revenge, Guyon Waton, and NDX AKA. An “Ngobrol Stage” program hosts conversations with CNN, Rio Adiwardhana, and Randa Oktovandy. Industry partners include Gajah Muda Entertainment, BRI, and others.

“This kind of event builds a new ecosystem,” Maman said, urging organizers to take the concept nationwide. “We hope Kopling becomes an annual platform in various regions -- a shared creative space for MSMEs.” He noted that musicians and artists are integral to the creative-economy MSME segment, contributing directly to national growth. “Music isn’t just art or entertainment; it has high economic value -- opening jobs, expanding business networks, and raising community welfare.”

Organizers emphasized the festival’s multiplier effects, from stage crews, sound engineers, instrument makers, and merchandise sellers to local transport services. By pairing live performances with curated MSME booths, Kopling aims to strengthen value chains, expand market access for both artists and entrepreneurs, and foreground Indonesia’s cultural identity.

Maman acknowledged the Jakarta launch as a learning experience. “The first edition won’t be perfect, but it will be evaluated. The principle is to bring in more MSME players and musicians from across Indonesia,” he said.

The festival’s second stop is scheduled for 22–23 November 2025 at Stadion Pakansari, Cibinong, Bogor Regency, with performances by Maliq & D’Essentials, The Changcuters, Drive, Batas Senja, Ndarboy Genk, Aftershine, Om Abidin, and Aldi Taher. Tickets are available on Goers, starting at Rp 85,000 for Festival and Rp 130,000 for VIP.
