CMK Encourages FEB UI Students to Seize Career Opportunities in Jewelry Industry
Jakarta. Central Mega Kencana (CMK) recently held a public lecture that aimed to inspire the younger generations to seize career opportunities in the jewelry industry.
CMK is a jewelry giant that houses MONDIAL, Frank & co., The Palace Jeweler, and digital gold investment platform LAKUEMAS. Earlier this week, CMK held a public lecture themed “Turn Sparks into Brilliance” at FEB UI, the economics and business school at the University of Indonesia. CMK had teamed up with the school’s Career Development Center (CDC) to hold the event that introduced the luxury jewelry business ecosystem and opened career opportunities for both students and graduates.
The event attracted a huge crowd as over 250 students and alumni were eager to learn more about the industry.
"We believe the young generation is the nation's precious, sparkling, and full of potential gems. This initiative allows us to broaden students’ horizons to understand that the luxury jewelry industry is not just about business, but also about art, innovation, heritage, and promising career opportunities," CMK’s chief operating officer, Petronella, told the young attendees as she kicked off the lecture.
The students also had the opportunity to ask Petronella to find out more about CMK's business lines and the company's internship opportunities.
FEB UI CDC head Sugeng Wahyudin welcomed the public lecture as it demonstrated the synergy between campus and industry.
"Today's campus activities are a concrete manifestation of the synergy between academia and industry. Through this forum, students and alumni have the opportunity to interact directly with companies, understand the needs of the workplace, and gain opportunities to join and contribute to CMK. We hope this activity will serve as a bridge that strengthens the relationship between the campus and industry, and will benefit students, alumni, and CMK," Sugeng said.
CMK also sent its employees who were UI graduates to share their insights. They were public relations manager Chikita Rosmerie, business process manager Alga Rosetta, and diamond material inventory manufacturing manager Okta Amirizal. From their journeys as interns to holding strategic positions, the alumni talked about the work dynamics, development opportunities, and the benefits of the Management Trainee program.
CMK has what it calls the #GenJ (Jewel Generation philosophy which embraces Journey, Empower, Work, Elevate, and Lead. The company seeks to be a top-of-mind luxury retail company that not only offers high-quality jobs but also a place that nurtures Indonesia’s best talents.
