Jakarta. CDI Group’s subsidiary under the port and storage services pillar, Redeco Petrolin Utama, or RPU, has officially started the development of its bitumen tank facility, giving an impetus to the industrial integration with the Singapore-based company, Aster. This initiative reinforces CDI Group’s commitment to advancing integrated industrial infrastructure while supporting national demand for bitumen supply.

The bitumen tank facility is scheduled to begin operations in the third quarter of 2026 and will comprise three tanks with capacities of 3,000 m³, 4,000 m³, and 5,000 m³. It will also strengthen the integration of assets within Chandra Asri Group, CDI Group’s parent company, as well as Aster Chemicals and Energy Pte. Ltd. as a bitumen supplier. Aster is the joint venture established by Chandra Asri and Glencore. This firm has also acquired Shell Energy and Chemicals Park (SECP) in Singapore.

“The development of this bitumen tank facility marks an important milestone for CDI Group in enhancing industrial infrastructure integration. This facility will improve the connectivity of Chandra Asri Group assets while reinforcing CDI Group’s role in delivering infrastructure solutions for industry. With RPU’s strong track record in port and storage operations, CDI Group is committed to contributing to the provision of essential infrastructure that supports sustainable economic growth in Indonesia,” CDI Group President Director, Fransiskus Ruly Aryawan said.

With the addition of this facility, RPU will operate a total of 75 storage tanks serving multiple products, including petrochemicals, petroleum, lubricants, and bitumen as its newest liquid product. RPU also owns and operates two jetties linked to an extensive network of storage tanks of various sizes, enabling efficient loading and unloading services tailored to diverse product specifications to meet customer needs.

Operated since 1986, RPU is well recognized for its reliability in port, storage, and terminal services in the Merak, Banten area. The establishment of the bitumen tank facility further strengthens CDI Group, through RPU, as a strategic partner for industries requiring high-standard liquid logistics and storage solutions, while expanding its infrastructure service capabilities to support Indonesia’s industrial growth.
