Jakarta. State-owned construction and investment company PTPP, under Danantara Indonesia, is reinforcing its role as a pioneer of construction management innovation in Indonesia through the application of lean construction methods at the Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) office building project in Ragunan, East Jakarta.

The BRI Ragunan project has been recognized as a strategic case study by the Indonesian Lean Construction Management Association (IAMKRI) due to its successful integration of lean construction practices with Building Information Modelling (BIM) technology.

Industry Visit and Knowledge Exchange
On August 28, 2025, IAMKRI board members, practitioners, and US lean construction expert Doanh Do visited the project site, where they were welcomed by PTPP’s project management team. The visit provided an opportunity for participants to directly observe large-scale office building management practices and study how efficiency principles -- hallmarks of lean construction -- are being implemented on-site.

IAMKRI Chairman Muhamad Abduh highlighted the importance of the visit as part of efforts to strengthen professional collaboration and expand practical knowledge in the field of construction.

“The BRI Ragunan project managed by PTPP is a strategic example of lean construction in action. We hope this initiative not only provides real learning opportunities but also inspires policy formulation and fosters a lean work culture in construction projects across Indonesia,” Abduh said.

Doanh Do praised PTPP’s project execution, noting the comprehensive integration of lean construction and BIM technology.

“PTPP has implemented lean construction in a highly systematic way, integrating it seamlessly with BIM technology. This is reflected in their project management approach and the quality of their work,” Doanh Do said.

The application of lean construction at BRI Ragunan is evident in time management efficiency, resource optimization, and strengthened team collaboration. IAMKRI stressed the importance of documenting these best practices to serve as valuable references for future training programs and construction policy development.

As the project host, PTPP welcomed IAMKRI’s recognition with enthusiasm.

“The selection of the BRI Ragunan project as a strategic showcase of lean construction reflects PTPP’s ongoing commitment to delivering innovation in construction management. It also strengthens our collaboration with professionals, industry practitioners, and key stakeholders,” said PTPP Corporate Secretary Joko Raharjo.

The visit also featured interactive discussions and knowledge exchange sessions aimed at deepening networks among construction professionals. IAMKRI reaffirmed its commitment to continuing such collaborations to accelerate the adoption of lean construction across projects nationwide.
