World Cup Qualifiers: Indonesia in Group with Asian Giants
Jakarta. Indonesia has been drawn alongside Asia’s football giants for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, with its first group match against Saudi Arabia scheduled for September 5.
The Asian Football Confederation’s draw in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday placed Indonesia in Group C, along with Australia, Bahrain, China, Japan, and Saudi Arabia.
Group A includes Iran, Kyrgyzstan, North Korea, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Uzbekistan.
Group B consists of Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Palestine, and South Korea.
The top two teams from each group will directly qualify for the 2026 World Cup finals. Teams finishing third and fourth will compete in another round of two groups, where only the top team will advance.
