Surabaya. Indonesian businessman Agung Surya Dewanto faces sanctions imposed by the United States authorities over his company, Surabaya Hobby, accused of supplying 100 servo motors to Pishgam Electronic Safeh Company (PESC) in Iran for the production of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), commonly known as drones.

Surabaya Hobby, a hobby store that also provides drone repair services, is located in Jalan Barata Jaya, Gubeng Surabaya, East Java. When BTV visited the store, it was discovered that Agung Surya is no longer the owner, and the management has been taken over by his business associate, an individual with the initials FF, who previously served as marketing personnel at the store.

The new owner of the store said that they have never sold drones abroad. The woman, who preferred not to disclose her name, also denied the allegation of supplying drone parts to Iran.

"We have never sold to anyone outside the country or shipped abroad," she said on Friday.

She said that, to date, the store's customers have been exclusively Indonesian. This can be verified through both online and offline transactions.

"For online purchases, the average buyer's address is always within Indonesia," she said.

A report from the US Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) stated that PESC is a company that provides servo motors for the Iranian military aerial forces. The US accuses the produced UAVs are used by terrorist groups in the Middle East and Russia during the Ukraine conflict. Agung Surya Dewanto's name appeared in the search results when the Jakarta Globe looked into the OFAC's Sanctions List.
