Six-Year-Old Indonesian Girl Killed in Singapore Crash Laid to Rest in Jakarta
Jakarta. The body of Sheyna Lashira Smaradiani, a six-year-old Indonesian girl who died in a traffic accident in Singapore, was laid to rest at Tanah Kusir Public Cemetery in South Jakarta on Sunday, as family and relatives mourned her sudden death.
Grief-stricken family members and mourners broke into tears as Sheyna’s body arrived at the cemetery and was carried to the burial site. Her parents, relatives and close friends accompanied the procession in an atmosphere of deep sorrow.
Emotions ran high as the coffin was lowered into the grave, with several family members seen consoling one another amid the mourning.
Floral wreaths sent by relatives and friends were displayed at the family home, with messages of condolence continuing to pour in following Sheyna’s death.
Sheyna died after being struck by a car on South Bridge Road, near the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple in Singapore’s Chinatown, a popular tourist area. The incident occurred while she was crossing the road with her parents.
Singapore police have previously confirmed that the driver involved in the incident has been arrested as investigations into the fatal accident continue.
