Shin Tae-yong Names 27 Players for World Cup Qualifiers Against Bahrain and China
Jakarta. Indonesia's head coach, Shin Tae-yong, has named 27 players for the national football team to face Bahrain on October 10 and China on October 15 in the third round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Among those called up is Jordi Amat from Johor Darul Ta'zim, who has returned from injury. However, Wolverhampton defender Justin Hubner is absent this time due to injury.
The squad also features two new faces: Mees Hilgers and Eliano Reijnders, both of whom recently acquired Indonesian citizenship on Sept. 30. It’s possible that one or both may debut in the upcoming matches.
Hilgers, born on May 13, 2001, currently plays as a center-back for Eredivisie club Twente.
Indonesia vs Australia: Paes Shines, Garuda Squad Earns Another Point
Reijnders, born on October 23, 2000, plays as an attacking midfielder or winger for Eredivisie club PEC Zwolle.
In attack, Persebaya Surabaya striker Malik Risaldi returns to the squad, adding another option for Shin Tae-yong to bolster the team’s forward line.
In previous qualifying matches, the Garudas played to a goalless draw (0-0) against Australia on September 10 and secured a 1-1 draw against hosts Saudi Arabia on September 6.
