Chonburi/Bangkok. Indonesia’s Rizki Juniansyah won gold and broke two world records in weightlifting on Monday, highlighting another strong day for the country at the SEA Games Thailand 2025.

Competing in the men’s 79kg class at Chonburi Sports School, the Olympic Paris 2024 gold medalist opened with a 160-kilogram snatch before sealing victory with a 205kg clean and jerk, a lift that set new Asian and world records. Rizki’s total of 365kg also established new continental and world marks, surpassing the previous record of 364kg.

Recently commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Indonesian military, Rizki celebrated his win with a salute on the platform after securing Indonesia’s gold.

On Sunday, skateboarder Basral Graito Hutomo claimed gold in the men’s street event in Bangkok.

Competing at the Extreme Sport Park, Rajamangala, Basral delivered his best run under pressure, landing a clean 360 flip followed by a boardslide on his final attempt to earn the highest score of the competition.

Basral said he focused on staying calm and committed to his final trick, which proved decisive.

The victory was followed by a widely shared moment of sportsmanship, when Malaysia’s head skateboard coach, Mariss Khan, ran onto the course to embrace Basral, a gesture that resonated with fans across the region.

With the two gold medals, Indonesia remained second in the SEA Games medal standings as of Monday afternoon, with 46 gold, 57 silver and 53 bronze medals. Host nation Thailand tops the standings with 132 gold medals among its 260 total. Vietnam sits third, followed by Singapore and Malaysia
