Ibu Kota Nusantara. President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) inaugurated several infrastructure projects in the future national capital, Nusantara, in East Kalimantan, including the private hospital, Hermina Nusantara, on Friday.

The president lauded the hospital for its state-of-the-art interior design which stands out from that of its peers.

"I just witnessed that Hermina Nusantara Hospital indeed has an interior design that is different from all other hospitals I have ever inspected -- it looks like a five-star hotel," he said.

Before the official inauguration, Hermina Nusantara Hospital had already received three patients from Sepaku in the nearby regency of North Penajam Paser.

The presence of an upscale hospital will boost public confidence, especially among civil servants, about moving to Nusantara.

"There were already three patients being treated. This will enhance the confidence of civil servants who will soon be relocated to Nusantara because we also have built apartments for them," he continued.

Hasmoro, CEO of Medikolaka Hermina that runs the hospital, said Hermina Nusantara Hospital is the 50th hospital launched by the company but the first with international standards.

The five-story hospital currently has 50 beds with a parking lot capacity of 146 cars and 130 motorcycles. It occupies a land of 20,838 square meters. The number of beds will be doubled by the end of the year.

"Hermina Nusantara Hospital will serve as a referral hospital, focusing on emergency treatment, maternal and child care, and perinatology," Hasmoro said.

The hospital is equipped with an emergency room, operating theater, ICU, delivery room, and medical support services such as pharmacy, laboratory, and radiology, along with a wastewater management system, a dedicated electrical transformer, and a generator.

Hermina Nusantara Hospital is managed according to standards in medical service, nursing, logistics, personnel, financial, and operational management, supported by an integrated hospital information system (SIMRS) within the Hermina group.

Hermina Hospital was built at a cost of Rp 650 billion ($41.7 million) with sustainable construction practices.
