Jakarta. An executive of the National Awakening Party (PKB) revealed that President-Elect Prabowo Subianto had invited their chairman Muhaimin Iskandar to discuss the upcoming cabinet makeup.

However, Syaiful Huda --the chair of the party’s executive board-- refused to reveal the details of PKB’s ministerial share in the next cabinet.

“We have had the talks, and some offers are being discussed. But we cannot reveal more details,” Syaiful recently said in Jakarta.

Syaiful also claimed PKB had not gotten the full details regarding reports that Prabowo’s cabinet could encompass 40 ministries. According to Syaiful, Prabowo intends to establish his ministerial cabinet before his inauguration that is set to take place on Oct. 20.

“PKB is ready to discuss further regarding the ministerial posts. We believe that Prabowo wants everything to be ready before Oct. 20,” Syaiful said.

PKB’s chairman Muhaimin Iskandar was the running mate to Prabowo’s rival Anies Baswedan in the recent election. But Muhaimin said last month that PKB had already reconciled with Prabowo’s Great Indonesia Movement Party (Gerindra) and established a coalition. Muhaimin at the time said both parties shared the common goal of achieving economic prosperity based on the constitution.
