Prabowo Congratulates Lula on Historic Fourth Presidential Election Victory
Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto has congratulated Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva on his reelection, securing a historic fourth term as leader of Latin America's largest economy.
"Congratulations to my good friend and comrade, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (@LulaOficial), on his historic fourth victory as President of the Federative Republic of Brazil. The election results have fully reaffirmed the recognition, by his fellow citizens, of his remarkable leadership qualities," Prabowo wrote in a post on social media platform X.
Prabowo said the election result reflected the Brazilian people's continued confidence in Lula's leadership. He also wished the Brazilian leader strength and good health as he prepares to lead the country for another term.
The Indonesian president stressed that Indonesia and Brazil have significant opportunities to deepen bilateral cooperation and strengthen their longstanding friendship.
He called on both countries to build on their strategic partnership amid mounting global challenges.
"Indonesia and Brazil have much to build together. In the face of the great challenges of our time, let us strengthen our strategic partnership and bring to life the friendship between our two nations," Prabowo said.
The congratulatory message comes a year after Lula visited Jakarta in October 2025, when the two leaders discussed expanding cooperation in renewable energy, trade, and sustainable development.
Lula's visit to Indonesia followed Prabowo's state visit to Brasília about three months earlier, highlighting growing diplomatic engagement between the two major emerging economies.
