Parenting Influencer Health Worsens After Arrest for Toddler Abuse, Investigation on Hold
Jakarta. Following her detention on Wednesday night, the health of MI, a parenting influencer who is the suspect in the abuse of several toddlers at Wensen daycare in Depok, West Java, has deteriorated. This has led the police to temporarily halt their investigation of the suspect, who is currently pregnant.
If MI's health continues to decline, the Depok Metro Police will transfer her to the Kramatjati Police Hospital for treatment.
Depok Metro Police Chief, Commissioner Arya Perdana, stated that any suspect who experiences health issues has the right to receive medical care. However, hospital treatment does not reduce the length of their detention.
"The suspect is currently unwell, but we have obtained her initial statement. The investigation will resume later. Given her condition, it is very likely that she will be transferred to the hospital," Arya Perdana said at the Depok Police Headquarters on Friday.

"We are aware that the perpetrator is pregnant. We will ensure that the rights of the unborn child are upheld, but the legal process will continue regardless of the pregnancy," said Atwirlany Ritonga, Acting Deputy Assistant for Special Protection Services for Children, Ministry of PPPA, in Jakarta on Friday.
The PPPA Ministry will provide psychological support to the child victims of abuse at Wensen School Daycare in Depok, West Java.
"This includes psychosocial support, ensuring that medical treatment is provided, and physical and psychological recovery for the child victims," Atwirlany Ritonga said.
MI was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Unit at her residence in Pondok Cibubur Housing, Jalan Radar Auri, Cimanggis, Depok City, West Java, on Wednesday.
The incident began when MK, 2, on June 10, was dropped off by his mother RDU, 28, at the daycare at 7 a.m. Upon returning home, his parents noticed bruises on his back and chest. When confronted, the daycare denied any abuse. A teacher at the daycare later informed MK's parents that the child cried whenever he saw MI.
The case came to light when a teacher reported that MK had been subjected to violence and abuse by the daycare owner. Several teachers gathered evidence, including CCTV footage showing the suspect pushing, hitting, kicking, and abusing the child with scissors.
