ID Food to Boost Chicken Meat, Egg Distribution in Battle Against Stunting
Jakarta. State-owned food holding ID Food said Monday that it was planning to expedite its distribution of chicken meat and eggs as a means to tackle stunting.
ID Food in partnership with the National Food Agency (Bapanas) have completed the first phase of the food aid distribution. The current distribution is the second round, and has reached 17 percent of the targeted 1.4 million families. ID Food is confident that it will reach 100-percent distribution in 7 Indonesian provinces by this November, according to the company’s president director Sis Apik Wijayanto.
“We are optimistic that we can reach 100 percent [of the target] this November. We are aiming that 1.4 million families receive our assistance which comes in the form of chicken meat and eggs as part of stunting prevention,” Sis Apik said during a media visit to B-Universe Media Holdings’s headquarters in PIK 2.
ID Food kicked off the food assistance distribution for this year in March. The initial distribution targeted 1,435 families that are at high risk of stunting in West Java. As many as 469 families in Bekasi received the assistance. The chicken meat and egg aid also went to 466 families in Cimahi, as well as 500 families in Depok.
Sis Apik said that there were no problems with the funding, while adding that the money from Bapanas and the State-Owned Ministry were enough to run the program.
He added: “So praise be to God, we have enough money for this program. Hopefully, we can speed up the food aid distribution in time so [the beneficiaries] can soon receive the assistance.”
