Jakarta. The Golkar Party aims to secure 60 percent of the vote in the 2024 Regional Elections across all provinces and regencies/cities in Indonesia. Idrus Marham, a senior party official, said the target seeks to sustain the victories achieved during the previous election period. He called on the Indonesian public to support and pray for the party's success.

"We strongly hope the people of Indonesia will support and pray for Golkar to achieve its target of 60 percent," Idrus Marham, a senior party official, said on Wednesday.

To achieve the target, Golkar Chairman Bahlil Lahadalia has established a monitoring post, complete with task forces assigned to oversee the election process and address potential legal issues. The task forces will provide legal assistance should problems arise.

Syahmud Basrin Ngabalin, Head of Golkar’s national election supervisory body, said the monitoring post would operate from Golkar’s headquarters in Jakarta. Election monitoring will take place daily, starting in the afternoon, to track progress toward the target.

"Although the party is experiencing significant dynamics, we are confident in our preparations," Syahmud said.

He also noted Golkar’s success in the 2020 Simultaneous Regional Elections, where it achieved a 61.1 percent victory, as a solid foundation for the upcoming contest. Despite current political challenges, Syahmud was confident that the party would surpass its 2024 target.
