Cikampek-Semarang Toll Road Implemented One-Way Policy for Ramadan Exodus
Jakarta. The Trans Java Toll Road has been partially designated for one-way traffic towards Central Java starting Friday evening, as the Ramadan exodus from Jakarta and surrounding cities began.
According to toll road operator Jasa Marga, the one-way policy utilizing all lanes from both directions was enforced from the 72nd kilometer of the Cikampek section in West Java to the 414th kilometer at the Kalikangkung toll gate near Semarang, Central Java.
This arrangement began at 9:50 p.m. once opposing traffic from the east had been completely cleared.
The decision to implement this temporary traffic arrangement was made collectively by the Transportation Ministry, the Traffic Police, and the Public Works Ministry, based on data indicating a significant increase in vehicles traveling from Jakarta to Central Java earlier in the day.
Additionally, eastbound traffic from the 47th kilometer in Cikampek to the 70th kilometer was provided with two additional lanes from the opposite direction.
Jasa Marga advised motorists intending to utilize these temporary lanes to ensure that their vehicles are in proper condition. Drivers are also reminded to maintain a minimum balance of Rp 500,000 on their toll cards to cover toll fares between Cikampek and Semarang.
