B-Universe Chairman Lauds Media Groups' Unity in 2024 VP Candidates' Debate
Jakarta. Enggartiasto Lukita, Executive Chairman of B-Universe Media Holdings, commends the collaboration between media companies in organizing the 2024 vice presidential candidates' debate held at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) on Friday evening.
He said that despite the limited time and different media backgrounds, the three prominent media groups — B-Universe, Transmedia, and Kompas TV — agreed to work together for the benefit of the nation.
"This is an extraordinary effort in a short period, and with different backgrounds, they managed to unite," said Enggar at JCC on Friday.
The former trade minister also expressed appreciation for the entire team working to prepare the broadcast so that the public can witness the three vice-presidential candidates contesting in the 2024 elections presenting their ideas.
"This is just the beginning. We will see it through, and judging from the unity, I am optimistic and feel that the vibrations (among media groups) are the same," he added.
He then invited all contested candidate pairs and their supporters in the 2024 elections to compete harmoniously without inviting animosity.
"We may differ in political attitudes, political choices, but there is no hostility, and this attitude is what I hope can reflect on all political parties, all teams from the existing pairs; let's compete with harmony," said Enggar.
BTV became the official broadcaster for the inaugural vice-presidential candidates' debate, which is the second debate in the series of presidential and vice-presidential debates for the 2024 presidential election.
BTV aired the preparations for the 2024 vice-presidential candidates' first debate live starting at 16:15 and continued with the vice-presidential debate scheduled to begin at 19:00.
The debate was attended by three vice-presidential candidates, namely Muhaimin Iskandar, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, and Mohammad Mahfud MD.
The theme of this vice-presidential debate will cover various economic issues, including people's economy, digital economy, finance, investment, tax policies, trade, management of the state and regional budgets, infrastructure, and urban development.
