BTV Tops National Journalism Quality Index Amid Digital Disruption
Jakarta. BTV has secured the highest score in the national Broadcast Program Quality Index issued by the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI), earning a rating of 3.4 -- the highest ever awarded in the history of the assessment.
The announcement was delivered by Rizky Wahyuni, chair of KPI Jakarta, during a visit to the B-Universe Media Holdings office in Pantai Indah Kapuk 2, Tangerang.
“We highly appreciate BTV because, in the Broadcast Program Quality Index released by KPI Central, it ranks first in the journalism category with a score of 3.4 -- the highest in history,” Rizky said.
She added that KPI visited not only to convey the commission’s appreciation, but also to discuss BTV’s programming pipeline and upcoming initiatives.
BTV’s news programming airs under the Beritasatu brand, which runs daily across morning, midday, and prime-time segments.
Rizky also commended BTV for maintaining strong performance amid rapid digital disruption, noting that many viewers now rely on social media rather than television for news.
“We see that BTV continues to survive and adapt to the challenges posed by fast-moving technological change through innovation and adjustments to the evolving broadcasting landscape in Jakarta,” she said.
Rizky stressed that BTV must continue setting an example for verified and responsible journalism, especially as misinformation and disinformation become increasingly widespread in society.
