American Tourists Assault Balinese Security Officer for Complaining About Loud Music

Badung. Two American tourists staying at a villa on Jalan Raya Seminyak, Kuta, Badung, went on a rampage after being reprimanded for playing loud music on Monday. They assaulted a local security officer (pecalang) identified as Made SD, 38, leaving him severely injured and requiring hospitalization.

The incident went viral and was shared on several social media accounts. The two tourists, identified as Aabed Attia, 27, and Zeyad Ahmad Attia, 30, have been detained by the Kuta Police.

Ketut Sukadi, the Public Relations Officer of Denpasar Regional Police, explained that the victim was contacted by local security, reporting complaints about loud music coming from the suspects' villa around 3:00 a.m on Monday.

As a security officer, the victim then went to the villa and found loud music playing. He entered the villa and asked the occupants to lower the volume as it was late at night and disturbing the sleep of others.

"The victim reprimanded them to lower the music volume because it was already late at night and disturbing people who were sleeping," Sukadi told Balipuspanews.com recently.

After the reprimand, the victim left the villa. However, before he reached the parking area, the two American tourists chased and pushed him. They then assaulted the victim with their bare hands.

Not only that, the two Americans also beat the victim with an iron rod, hitting him on the head and thigh. As a result of the assault, the victim suffered a torn wound on his head, pain and swelling on his left cheek, and pain and swelling on his right thigh.

The victim was then taken to the nearest hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, the incident was reported to the Kuta Police and the two perpetrators were immediately arrested.

"The two American perpetrators have been arrested and are still being questioned by the Kuta Police," concluded AKP Sukadi.
