Jakarta. Chief Economic Minister Airlangga Hartarto said on Monday his fellow cabinet members remain in high spirits to ensure a successful conclusion of President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo’s government.

Jokowi’s second term will expire on October 20 and he is set to be replaced by President-elect Prabowo Subianto, his defense minister, and Vice President-elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka, his eldest son.

"In my view, we in the cabinet remain solid," Airlangga said after the Eid al-Adha prayer in Jakarta.

"We are determined to help Mr. President and Mr. [Vice President] Ma’ruf Amin successfully conclude their jobs, primarily related to the development programs,” said Airlangga, who is also the chairman of the Golkar Party.

Airlangga most likely will be awarded a key cabinet position in the future Prabowo government after his Golkar Party became a key ally in the coalition supporting Prabowo’s presidential bid.

The Golkar Party also nominated Gibran as Prabowo’s running mate which proved effective in attracting Jokowi’s voters to sway support to the pair.
