Prabowo’s Son Designs Kits for Indonesian Olympic Team
Jakarta. The son of President-elect Prabowo Subianto played a key role in designing the kit for the Indonesian Olympic team.
Ragowo Hediprasetyo Djojohadikusumo, more popularly known as Didit Prabowo, unveiled the new design on Thursday, which prominently features the national flag's colors of red and white.
"I did some research and got inspired after listening to 'Berkibarlah Benderaku' [Wave My Flag], which led me to introduce this red and white kit,” Didit said during the official launch of the Indonesian Olympic uniform in Jakarta.
Didit, 40, also mentioned that he contributed to the production of the Olympic kits through his foundation.
The kits feature a small Garuda bird logo on the chest and are tailored to meet the specific needs of each sports event Indonesian athletes will participate in at the Paris Olympics. They also include uniforms for the opening and closing ceremonies as well as for podium moments.
"Hopefully, this kit design will be embraced by the Indonesian people, and our athletes will wave our flag proudly and bring home gold medals,” Didit said.
He is the first Indonesian designer to be directly involved in creating the Indonesian Olympic kits.
The launch event was attended by National Olympic Committee Chairman Raja Sapta Oktohari, Chef de Mission Anindya Bakrie, and Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Dito Ariotedjo.
