Jakarta. Renowned fashion designer Ivan Gunawan has announced his intention to cast his vote for the upcoming Feb. 14 presidential and legislative elections at a voting booth in Paris.

"I am about to depart for Europe, but I don’t want to miss the opportunity to participate in the upcoming elections," Ivan said. “I will be visiting the Indonesian Embassy in Paris. It turns out that [voting procedures] are quicker in foreign countries.”

He mentioned that he plans to register with the embassy on Feb. 10 to obtain the paper ballot.

Ivan recently gained attention after being removed from Trans TV due to his effeminate behaviors while hosting the network’s Brownish program.

His dismissal was based on a reprimand from the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI), which prohibits male TV and radio personalities from adopting behaviors, speech patterns, and attire traditionally associated with women.

Ivan has since revealed plans to relocate to a foreign country, although he hasn't disclosed the specific location.
