Jakarta. Emergencies can happen anywhere and at any time. If you are planning to visit Indonesia, knowing how to contact emergency services can be crucial, especially if you are unfamiliar with the local area.
Visitors are advised to save important emergency numbers on their phones before traveling. We have compiled a list of contacts for various situations, including medical emergencies, crime, fires, natural disasters, search and rescue operations, and electricity-related problems.
Emergency Call Service (112)
Indonesia's nationwide emergency call number is 112. The service is designed to connect callers with various emergency services, including the police, fire department and medical assistance.
One of the advantages of 112 is that it can be dialed even when a mobile phone is locked or has no remaining credit, provided the phone has a signal from a mobile network.

When you call 119, an operator can direct you to the nearest medical assistance center or arrange an ambulance from a nearby community health center (Puskesmas) or hospital, depending on the patient's needs and the facilities available.
For serious medical emergencies, callers should provide their location as clearly and accurately as possible.
Fire Department (113) and Police (110)
Although emergency assistance can be requested through 112, visitors can also contact the relevant agency directly.
- 113 — Fire department
- 110 — Police
Direct numbers may be useful when a rapid response from a specific agency is required, particularly in areas where the integrated 112 service is not yet fully operational.
Search and Rescue: Basarnas (115)
Indonesia's National Search and Rescue Agency, known as Basarnas, can be reached through its emergency contact number, 115.
The agency is responsible for search, rescue, assistance and evacuation operations involving accidents, disasters and other life-threatening situations on land, at sea and in the air.
The service can be particularly important for emergencies involving boats, diving, hiking and other outdoor activities.
Disaster Management Agency BNPB
The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) can be contacted at:
- +62 21 2982 7793
- +62 21 2128 1200
BNPB is a non-ministerial government agency responsible for disaster management in Indonesia.
The numbers can be used to report natural disasters, request emergency assistance or evacuation, and obtain official information about disaster threats and response efforts.
Electricity Emergencies: PLN 123
Indonesia's state-owned electricity company, PLN, operates the 123 Contact Center.
Visitors and residents can use the service to report power outages, inquire about electricity services, arrange new connections, request increased electricity capacity, check bills and obtain other information related to PLN services.
Tourist Assistance: Halo Wonderful Indonesia
For tourism-related assistance and inquiries, visitors can contact the Ministry of Tourism's Halo Wonderful Indonesia service.
- WhatsApp: +62 811 895 6767
- Phone: +62 21 383 8000
The service provides assistance and information for tourists traveling in Indonesia.
Save These Numbers Before Your Trip
For international visitors, saving emergency contacts before arriving in Indonesia can help reduce confusion during an emergency.
At a minimum, consider saving 112 for general emergencies, 119 for medical assistance, 110 for police, 113 for fire emergencies and 115 for search and rescue.
When calling an emergency service, clearly state your location, describe the nature of the emergency and provide a phone number that can be used to contact you. If possible, ask a local person, hotel staff member or tour operator to assist with communication.
