Jakarta. Como 1907, the Italian football club owned by Indonesia’s wealthiest Hartono family, has permanently signed Argentine midfielder Máximo Perrone from Manchester City.

Como did not disclose the transfer fee, but according to Transfermarkt, Perrone is valued at £12 million.

The 21-year-old Perrone, who impressed during his loan spell at Como last season, has signed a contract until 2029. Known for his vision and composure on the ball, Perrone made 26 appearances last season, quickly becoming a key figure under head coach Cesc Fàbregas.

Born in Buenos Aires in 2003, Perrone started his professional career with Vélez Sarsfield before moving to Manchester City in January 2023. He gained additional top-flight experience in La Liga with Las Palmas before joining Como.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Máxi to the Como family on a permanent deal,” Fàbregas said in a statement. “He settled in quickly last season, understood exactly how we want to play, and became a key figure in the team.”

Perrone also expressed his excitement about staying in Como, saying, “I’m so pleased to officially be staying at Como. I really got on well with everyone, the coach, my teammates, the city, and the fans last year. I’m confident we’ll enjoy many more great moments together in the future.”

The Hartono brothers, Budi and Bambang, acquired Como through their company SENT Entertainment in 2019, when the club was still competing in Serie D, for €850,000 (around $990,000), and immediately cleared the club’s €150,000 debt. Now, Como has become one of the wealthiest clubs in Italian football, with Arsenal legends Thierry Henry and Fàbregas among its shareholders.
