Barcelona Legends Land in Jakarta, Set to Face Del Piero Team
Tangerang. A host of former FC Barcelona stars have arrived in Indonesia ahead of the highly anticipated Clash of Legends 2026, set to take place this weekend in Jakarta.
The football icons touched down at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on Thursday, with more players scheduled to arrive in stages via international flights.
The exhibition match is slated for Saturday at Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium, one of Southeast Asia’s largest sporting venues, and is expected to draw thousands of fans eager to relive the glory days of some of football’s biggest names.
Among those already in Jakarta are Brazilian Ballon d’Or winner Rivaldo, Argentine forward Javier Saviola, and Spanish players Cristian Tello, Martín Montoya, Marc Valiente and Jonatan Soriano. Portuguese winger Ricardo Quaresma is also part of the lineup.
Other former players joining the event include Andreu Fontàs, Sergi Barjuán, Fernando Navarro, and Jesús Mariano Angoy, all of whom have featured for Barcelona or other major European clubs.
Additional arrivals are expected later in the day, including Dutch striker Patrick Kluivert, former Netherlands international Phillip Cocu, and Spanish defender Miguel Ángel Salgado.
Barcelona Legends will face DRX World Legends in the exhibition match. The opposing side is also set to feature global football icons such as Alessandro Del Piero and Fabio Cannavaro. The squad will also include former top Indonesian players, including Irfan Bachdim, Arthur Irawan, Ismed Sofyan, Maman Abdurrahman, and Greg Nwokolo.
The Clash of Legends 2026 will showcase former stars in a friendly match steeped in nostalgia, offering fans a rare chance to see football greats back in action. Organizers say the event is not only intended as entertainment but also as a platform to strengthen international football ties and inspire Indonesia’s younger generation.
