Jakarta. Actor Gary Iskak, known for his work across film, television, and digital platforms, died on Saturday, at the age of 52. He passed away at RSPPN Suyoto Hospital in South Tangerang after a motorcycle accident in Bintaro.

Police said Gary was riding his motorcycle shortly after midnight when he lost control and struck a tree in front of a car wash in South Jakarta. Witnesses reported that the impact threw him off the vehicle. Authorities confirmed he was not under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. He received intensive treatment at the hospital but was pronounced dead at around 9 a.m.

Born Gary Muhammad Iskak in Bogor, West Java, on July 10, 1973, he was remembered as a versatile and dedicated performer. Gary built a two-decade career spanning feature films, soap operas, and web series, making him one of the recognizable faces of Indonesian entertainment.

He made his film debut in 2000 with Bintang Jatuh and rose to prominence through a wave of early-2000s hits, including Ada Apa dengan Cinta?, 30 Hari Mencari Cinta, Ungu Violet, Jatuh Cinta Lagi, D’Bijis, and Merah Itu Cinta. His steady presence on television began in 2001 with roles in popular series such as Opera SMU, Putri, Buku Harian Baim, and Pangeran 2, followed by a long list of family and religious dramas. He later expanded his work to FTV productions and digital series like Halusinada, Mami Kost, Twisted, World of Dr Boyke, Second Account, and Generasi D’Bijis.

Gary’s most recent film, the horror-comedy Maju Serem Mundur Horor, premiered nationwide on Oct. 23, 2025. He had also joined the forthcoming project Rumah 78, directed by Demian Aditya, and the Diary Misteri Sara universe created by Sara Wijayanto.

Gary is survived by his wife, actress Richa Novisha, and their two children. In total, he leaves behind four children from several relationships, including previous marriages with Sabrina R. Bonita and Irma Risma.
