231,104 Participants Pass State Universities Exam: UI, Unpad, and UNS Among Top Picks
Jakarta. A total of 231,104 out of 1.58 million participants have passed the 2024 state university entrance exam, known as the UTBK SNBT. Among the top universities this year are Sebelas Maret University (UNS), the University of Indonesia (UI), and Padjajaran University (Unpad).
During a press conference on the "2024 SNBT Results" at the Ministry of Education and Culture building in Jakarta on Thursday, Ganefri, Chairman of the National Selection Committee for New Student Admissions (SNPMB), announced that the capacity for prospective students has increased by about 5 percent this year to 272,248 seats compared to 2023. This leaves 41,144 seats remaining, which will be transferred to the independent selection pathway.
Ganefri explained that the remaining quota is due to a lack of applicants for certain study programs, such as at the Indonesian Institute of Arts and Culture (ISBI) Papua.
Participants in the SNBT selection are graduates from the last three years (2022-2024), totaling 1.58 million. Of these, about half, or 749,257 participants, took the exam.
This year, 145 universities/institutes, polytechnics, and state Islamic religious colleges (PTKIN) participated in the SNBT, compared to 136 state universities in 2023 and 124 state universities in 2022.
Ganefri noted that the most competitive study programs are dominated by vocational levels, both three-year diplomas (D3) and four-year diplomas (D4).
The five most competitive programs are:
- D3 Pharmacy at Sebelas Maret University (UNS) - 0.5 percent acceptance rate
- D4 Anesthesiology Nursing at UNS - 0.5 percent acceptance rate
- D4 Midwifery at Padjadjaran University (Unpad) - 0.51 percent acceptance rate
- D3 Business Management at UNS - 0.58 percent acceptance rate
- D3 Public Relations at the University of Indonesia (UI) - 0.63 percent acceptance rate
How to Check the 2024 SNBT Results
The results will be announced on Thursday at 3:00 p.m. Jakarta time. However, participants can access their accounts starting at noon. Here's how to check them:
- Visit the official SNPMB Ministry of Education and Culture website at https://snpmb.bppp.kemdikbud.go.id.
- Select the UTBK SNBT option from the main menu.
- Enter your 2024 SNBT registration number and date of birth.
- Click the "view selection results" button. The result will indicate whether you passed the 2024 SNBT or not.
